IRON NEST Controller Support

What the official store confirms—and what still needs model-specific testing.

Evidence boundary

The GOG listing confirms controller support. This page does not infer complete support for every controller or store configuration.

Confirmed support

The official GOG listing includes controller support for the Windows release. The developer also announced that IRON NEST is verified for Steam Deck, which is stronger evidence for a handheld control path than a generic community profile.

What that does not prove

Neither statement proves that every Xbox, PlayStation or third-party controller has identical prompts, complete remapping or the same behavior through every store input layer. The game asks one Operator to move between a tactical map, calculator, loading system, rotation controls and elevation controls; precision-heavy map work may still feel different from keyboard and mouse.

Troubleshooting order

  1. Connect the controller before launching.
  2. Test camera movement, interaction and menu navigation before starting a mission.
  3. Check one station at a time: map, calculator, loader, rotation and elevation.
  4. If inputs are duplicated or missing, inspect Steam Input or the equivalent store layer before changing in-game bindings.
  5. Fall back to keyboard and mouse when a mission-critical action remains unavailable.

Reporting a compatibility problem

Record the controller model, connection method, storefront, active input profile and the station where the problem occurs. “Controller does not work” is too broad to distinguish a device issue from a missing action or a remapping conflict.
